Joti Foundation
Our Story

We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.

That belief is the whole of Joti Foundation’s origin: one man in a small Punjab town who helped whoever stood in front of him, and a family that turned his example into an organisation.

Our Inspiration

Late Prabjot Singh

Loving father, husband and philanthropist — the true inspiration behind the founding of Joti Foundation.

Prabjot Singh was the most trusted and humble figure in his hometown of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. With his great heartedness and magnanimous spirit, he led the expansion and development of the entire town without ever seeking credit for it. Every soul who crossed his path was openly welcomed for whatever help they needed.

His charitable tales have no end even today. Visitors to Sherewala are still told of a leader who took care of families in need, funded the education of children, helped young women stand on their own feet, and guided officials who came looking for support — deeds that remain an inspiration to many.

Our Commitment

Ignite the Future of Our Country

We are driven by empathy and a strong sense of justice — to fight for the abolition of poverty, for gender equality, and for a more sustainable future.

Children Thrive

A future in which children do not go hungry, but thrive — fed, in school and safe.

Women Shine

A future in which women do not hide, but shine — standing on their own feet and leading in their own communities.

Villages Grow

A future in which villages do not struggle, but grow — prepared for what the climate brings and able to recover from it.

No One Written Off

A future in which people with disabilities do not give up on a secure, healthy and nourished life free of discrimination.

Team Joti Foundation works at the grassroots and connects with people directly, so we understand what they need emotionally, mentally, physically and psychologically. We are here to reform the system, spark our country’s future, and make a difference in the lives of others.

Everyone can help someone. Fund a response, or train as a first responder in your own district.
